FAQ for AnimalTracing/3 (ENG)

Only registered software clients are allowed to access AnimalTracing.

To get registered, you need a contract with the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) for the use of the Agate login and a contract with Identitas for the use of AnimalTracing.

The use of the Agate login will generate following costs: blw.admin.ch

The use of AnimalTracing is free of charge. We will however charge you the hours we spend for the onboarding of your application and our support during your test phase. Normally, this will be between 5 and 10 hours.

Please contact us to get more information or start the onboarding process.

This error message is shown when your request does not contain an OAuth token or if your token is invalid. Only registered software are able to get a token from the agate IDP. For more information see « AnimalTracing onboarding »

This can have different reasons:

1. You do not have the required working focus in TVD
– You can assign some working focuses to yourself in TVD: guest, mandate taker, equid owner
– You can ask the mandate giver to give you the mandate

2. You have the required working focus in TVD, but in your request, you specified a different working focus
– Use the correct working focus in your request

3. The working focus in your request is formally incorrect
– See working focus examples

It depends whether you need an access token for a system or your end users.

Systems have their own (fixed) agate number and must use the client credential flow to get an access token.

Users must use the authorization code flow to get an access token for their agate number. They need to enter their credentials and their agate number in their webbrowser to get an authorization code. This code is then passed to your application which can then use this code to get the agate access token.
